Emerging Technologies: Duct Leakage Fault Detection

Duct leakage typically increases HVAC energy consumption because the heated or chilled air that leaks into unconditioned spaces increases the duty cycle of the heating or cooling equipment. Variable-air-volume (VAV) blowers must run harder to deliver the required conditioning to the space.
