Demand or No Demand: Electrical Rates for Standard 90.1-2010

ASHRAE’s energy standard for nonresidential buildings in 2010 will require 30% energy savings above the current standard. This article asks what rate should be used in calculating payback for measuring efficiency. The article explains how using a rate based on demand would encourage more energy savings and higher efficiency.
