Chilled Water Plant Efficiency

Tower semiconductor in Israel is saving 12% of its chilled water plant annual energy consumption by performing a low-cost retrofit to its existing equipment. The company, which is located in the hot, humid climate of Migdal Haemek manufactures wafer-thin integrated circuits and provides manufacturing services and design support. The firm's annual electric bills run into millions of dollars. The HVAC systems use most of the energy at about 50% of the entire annual consumption.
